The good news \u2013 mom\u2019s lungs sounds SO much better. She still gets a little wheezy but she gets better after her nebulizer treatments. She looks A LOT better, but she\u2019s definitely in a different way that she was just a week ago.<\/p>\n
She\u2019s not talking very much, mostly responds with nodding or shaking her head slightly. Very occasionally will she actually use words. When we ask her questions, she looks at us as if she\u2019s processing what we\u2019re saying, but she chooses not to answer. Her appetite has been getting better. She\u2019s eating a bit but she\u2019s not feeding herself. Eating must be with direct supervision.<\/p>\n
We noticed today that she\u2019s having a lot of tremors. It doesn\u2019t happen constantly, but when it happens, she\u2019s VERY shaky. It\u2019s strange that it affected both legs and her right arm. It didn\u2019t happen when she slept (which was an awful lot today) or when she was \u201cconducting\u201d music. Cyndie had a lot of Korean folk videos playing for today which she really seemed to enjoy.<\/p>\n
Cyndie and I met with a representative from Capital Caring today who was wonderful. Our previous experiences with hospice have been amazing. Today was no different. We must have talked for nearly two hours. We will be meeting with another representative to go over paperwork. Although mom is NOT in her \u201cfinal days\u201d, hospice makes a lot of sense for her situation. It will be helpful to all involved to have another layer of support. I\u2019m happy that they also have chaplain services available. I know that having a spiritual advisor will bring her great comfort. It\u2019s been a very long time since she has had someone to help her in this way. I actually think that having an opportunity to meet with a chaplain will do wonders for her anxiety and any uncertainty that she may be feeling.<\/p>\n
Hopefully tomorrow we will have information on her discharge. I\u2019ll post more when we know when she\u2019ll be getting sprung and\/or if there are any other significant goings on with her.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
