You read that right… Mom is going to be getting discharged soon! She’s been doing great and as of today her discharge date from therapy at Heritage is June 16. That means that she’ll be headed back to Morningside shortly thereafter. I’m targeting June 18-20. The timing actually works out great but more importantly it will be nice to get her back into an environment where she can be a lot more social. It gets depressing sitting in that room all the time. They do have activities, but many of the residents there don’t talk much so she said that sometimes it’s actually more comfortable to just be alone.

I know she’s still frustrated because she’s not yet at the point she was before she fell, but I can see that she’s definitely getting back on track. Once she’s back at Morningside she will have therapy through her previous home health provider. I’m really hoping that she gets to work with the same OT and PT she had before. They got to know each other really well and it would be great if she doesn’t have to start all over with someone else. We’re trying really hard to keep her spirits up. She’s been having some down days lately. I’m hoping that a more upbeat place with her new friends will help keep her in a more positive mindset.

Yes!
