UPDATE \u2013 6:45pm<\/p>\n
Just spoke with mom\u2019s nurse again for another update. Nothing new to report. Her vitals are still good and she\u2019s been sleeping the entire time. She\u2019s starting to stir more easily when people come in and she\u2019ll open her eyes when someone deals with her IV. Other than that, she still appears to be comfortable. She\u2019s not grimacing in pain but they are keeping an eye on it. Since it\u2019s getting late, I am not going back until sometime tomorrow morning. Not planning on too early though \u2013 I want to give the case managers time to get there and review her case and hopefully give the therapists time to make it in to assess her. The more people that can see her before I get there will help with the planning and avoid a lot of waiting around time.<\/p>\n
Cyndie will most likely do the next check in call. Unless anything alarming happens, I won\u2019t be posting an update until sometime tomorrow.<\/p>\n

UPDATE \u2013 3:30pm<\/p>\n
I just spoke with mom\u2019s nurse and she is still sleeping pretty comfortably. She stirs when they go in to check on her so she knows that they are there but she doesn\u2019t completely wake up. Her vitals are still good and everything is fine. I\u2019m trying to stick around at home to take care of what needs to be done here while I can. I\u2019ll be calling again in a few hours but of course I know that they will call if there is an emergency. Will post an update if anything changes. As of right now I am assuming that she\u2019ll continue to rest. Unfortunately it\u2019s possible that she will be up sometime during the night, hopefully not causing any trouble. My current plan is to just head up in the morning. Case managers and therapists should be available then so hopefully we will be able to work out a game plan.<\/p>\n
UPDATE \u2013 12:10pm<\/p>\n
Mom made it through surgery fine. Waiting for her to be brought back to her room. It will likely be a sleepy day for her today. No idea of discharge plans yet. I think main goal is to at least get her sitting in a chair. I do have her walker and brace with shoes here in case therapists want to get her to stand. More updates when I can.<\/p>\n

Mom was wheeled back about 10 minutes ago. Her numbers look great this morning. I haven\u2019t spoken with her since she\u2019s been sleeping peacefully \u2013 she apparently got pretty combative last night so she was given some stuff to calm her down and sleep. She was still sleeping it off when they took her into the OR.<\/p>\n
Between set up, the actual surgery and then the recovery, it\u2019s going to be 2-3 hours before I get an update. I\u2019ll post when I can as I know more.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
