Mom has been continuing to get her therapy and has been VERY patient with me since I have actually been sick for the last week and a half. I’m finally starting to feel normal again! I only did some extra walking with her once – the rest she’s done with her therapists. Yesterday she managed two laps around the kitchen/dining room/foyer area with the therapist. She is still using her walker. Although it’s still very early to say, but it seems pretty unlikely that she’ll be able to walk completely unassisted. That really doesn’t bother me – if she can use a tool to help get herself around and she’s up and out of that wheelchair, I think that is HUGE. When I walked with her the other day she went pretty far and I didn’t have a hand on her. I just followed closely behind with her wheelchair in case she needed a break. I was also close enough (with a very watchful eye) to make sure that she didn’t lose her balance.

We’re getting ready for another trip away. This time mom will be at Sunrise for two weeks instead of just one. I think her stay there will be better since we all know what to expect and will be going into it more prepared. I’m looking forward to her getting involved in some activities and interacting with others more.

Please keep her in your prayers (as always). She continues to work when she can, even when she’s sitting alone. I don’t want her to get discouraged. I want her to see how far she’s come and what she has the potential of accomplishing. She has not reached her full potential yet!

Not much has been going on here in the last week and a half.
